This piece was done at a time years ago when I was doing a number of pieces in this style, paintings filled mainly with similar brushstrokes alongside each other in a mostly single layer, without much overlapping
I remember the fluidity of the specific brand of paint I used, allowing for easy gestural brushstrokes and color blending
The piece is inspired by my love of color, including color combinations, with the blue and pink being my favorite combo in this piece
Mike Lenkowski is a visual artist living and working in Chicago. He has worked in various media such as reverse acrylic on plexiglass, acrylic on canvas, Plastic Prismatic Boxes, and 3D Assemblages. Mike graduated in 2007 from Avondale College with a Degree in Fine Art. His work can be found in private collections in the US and abroad, as well as in Art*o*mat machines nationwide.
