I choose shades of blue and green to suggest the essence of earth, water, and nature. Then I went with soft-edged forms and shapes to visually define and convey fragility. Many of the marks I painted with my fingers for a gentle touch. The bluebird signifies a life that may hang on the edge of existence. But the bird could also symbolize hope. I love keeping the interpretation of all the abstraction in this painting open to the viewer. Look closely and tell me what you see.
