Delft smile

Delft Smile

Piece description from the artist

I am greatly influenced by decorative arts, especially Dutch Delftware. When I lived in Holland I was taken by all the shades of blue and white and the contemporary patterns that are being made there now. It is still a big part of Dutch culture and the contemporary flair springs it all to life like more musical notes. In this piece I was thinking about creating a painting in ceramic and was happy with the abstraction that came from it so it gave me a smile…. Delft Smile!
