The most magical hour of the day is when day gives way to night. Shadows become long and the sky puts on a show displaying the most gorgeous pastel colors. Changing by the minute this painting was an attempt to capture that moment when all the world seemed a candy factory. Other worldly and surreal.
April is heavily influenced by the classical impressionists but strives to bring about elements of expressionism as well into her paintings. She uses color fearlessly and is always striving to "capture the light". April wants her paintings to invoke the feelings of her subjects and especially the wild feelings of being out of doors surrounded by the beauty of nature.
