Piece description from the artist
This painting was inspired by an image of Gustavo Dudamel, the conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Reviewing his concert of Stravinsky's "Firebird" at Lincoln Center, a writer in The New York Times said Dudamel "drew such blazing colors, slashing attacks and sheer terror from the orchestra that at the climax of the dance some people in the hall broke into applause and shouted 'Bravo.'" I was trying to capture the intensity, imagination and excitement of his conducting.
