Piece description from the artist
After the sun dipped behind the distant mountains, warm evening light lingered across the sky above Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Soft, diffused rays broke through the clouds, casting a glowing atmosphere over the dramatic red rock formations.
Captured from Mesa Overlook and partially framed by a yucca plant in the foreground, this landscape view showcases some of the park’s most iconic features, including the North and South Gateway Rocks rising prominently from the canyon floor. In the distance, Pikes Peak stands tall as the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
Rising to 14,115 feet within Pike National Forest, Pikes Peak sits just west of Colorado Springs and serves as a defining landmark of the region. As evening settles over the landscape, the combination of rugged sandstone formations, glowing sky, and distant mountain peaks creates a timeless Colorado scene filled with color, depth, and natural beauty.
