Coffee table painting

Coffee Table Painting

Piece description from the artist

I created this piece during a tumultuous time of transition, while moving to a new city on my own to attend law school. I wanted to create a piece that was serene and would help keep me grounded when looking at it during a busy week or at the end of a stressful day. The original name for the piece is actually “Lightness in Darkness,” an ode to the lighter airy tones of the piece and the darkness of my first winter in D.C. as opposed to sunny South Florida which I was accustomed to. The piece sat on my coffee table, since at the time I was too afraid to nail holes into my studio apartment wall. After sharing the piece on social media, followers endearingly referred to it as the Coffee Table Painting – so it was lovingly nicknamed and the name has since stuck with me and been renamed in my portfolio.
