Cly Butte Stormy View Monument Valley

Piece description from the artist

I captured this landscape view of Cly Butte in Monument Valley as storm clouds gathered across the open Southwest desert. Set within Navajo Tribal Park in Navajo County, Arizona, the butte rises to an elevation of 5,820 feet and anchors the expansive scene, surrounded by distant mesas and sweeping desert terrain. Named for a Navajo chief who is buried at its base, Cly Butte carries deep cultural meaning. The vast sky, brushed with pink and purple tones from the approaching storm, stretches across the horizon and adds scale, drama, and a sense of timelessness to this iconic desert landscape.
