Piece description from the artist
This photograph captures the otherworldly landscape of White Pocket, a place that feels more like Mars than Earth. Swirling patterns, rounded mounds, and intricate sandstone formations stretch across the scene, showcasing nature’s artistry at its finest. Located near the Utah border within Vermilion Cliffs National Monument on the rugged Paria Plateau, the layered colors and textures here are unlike anywhere else in the Southwest. Remote and challenging to reach. requiring high clearance and four-wheel drive, White Pocket rewards visitors with a truly breathtaking and humbling landscape, a powerful reminder of the beauty and creativity found in the natural world.
