Autumn is such a warm time in the low country. Puffy clouds roll over the tidal creek and are reflected in the marsh waters. The warm colors and loose brushstrokes convey the energy of life that buzzes throughout southern marshes.
April is heavily influenced by the classical impressionists but strives to bring about elements of expressionism as well into her paintings. She uses color fearlessly and is always striving to "capture the light". April wants her paintings to invoke the feelings of her subjects and especially the wild feelings of being out of doors surrounded by the beauty of nature.
