Piece description from the artist
Magnificent cotton candy colored skies burst behind an ancient oak dripping in Spanish moss. This oak sits on the Ashley River on Middleton Plantation in Charleston, South Carolina. One of the most beautiful places in America.
April is heavily influenced by the classical impressionists but strives to bring about elements of expressionism as well into her paintings. She uses color fearlessly and is always striving to "capture the light". April wants her paintings to invoke the feelings of her subjects and especially the wild feelings of being out of doors surrounded by the beauty of nature.
