Cedar Bush View Of Upheaval Dome

Piece description from the artist

A large cedar bush clings to a rocky ledge along the bluff at Upheaval Dome in Canyonlands National Park, just outside Moab, Utah, USA. Under overcast skies, soft, muted light and faint purple tones spread across the scene, lending a quiet, mysterious mood to the rugged desert landscape. Surrounded by steep canyon walls and layers of richly colored sandstone, Upheaval Dome stands as one of the park’s most intriguing geological features. Scientists continue to debate whether its dramatic form was created by a meteorite impact or pushed upward by a massive salt dome deep beneath the surface. Located within the Island in the Sky District, this remarkable viewpoint is a memorable stop for hikers, photographers, and anyone exploring Utah’s red rock country.
