I've always loved how winter has a quiet, transformative power when it blankets the rugged landscape. The dense texture of the evergreen boughs, heavily frosted and layered in stark white, creates a natural tapestry that balances the fleeting brilliance of the season with the enduring, quiet resilience of the forest beneath. By contrasting the bright, crystalline frost against the deep, muted tones of the sheltered inner branches, the photograph captures a fleeting moment of stillness, inviting the viewer to slow down and appreciate the intricate, delicate details that emerge when the world freezes over.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
