Cactus Burst, McDowell Mountain, Scottsdale, Arizona, 2011

Piece description from the artist

You need an impossibly colorful multi-lobed barrel cactus bursting from your wall to brighten a winter day. Made of scores of individual photographs and collaged together for a super-sharp (pun intended) mural with multiple planes of focus, this artwork will draw viewers in from a long distance to admire the more-than-life-size colorful needles. 42" high x 54" wide, with a one-inch gallery wrap, ready to hang. Limited to an edition of 40, and prices will go up as supplies dwindle.

About Steve Farley

Tucson, AZ

Steve Farley took his first photograph with a Kodak Instamatic at the age of six. He has traveled the world ever since, finding engaging imagery everywhere, and bringing it back to us. Steve creates his large-scale photographs by digitally collaging many zoomed-in images to increase detail and reveal changing colors, movement, and angles.

Steve is also the public artist who invented a way to convert photographs into glazed ceramic tile murals using a process called Tilography. His work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, Dallas, Norfolk, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, San Jose, Fort Lauderdale, and many other locations.
