This photo showcases a view of a small wooden covered bridge called Tal Wooten Bridge and the historic Jolly Mill behind it in Pierce City, Missouri, USA. The bridge crosses over a natural spring. It was a beautiful fall season afternoon in the Ozarks. The grist mill was built in 1848. It stands as a testament to its craftsmanship and resilience, having survived the Civil War even after the town was burned down. Not visible in this photo but behind the mill flows Capps Creek. Today, the Jolly Mill and surrounding park have been restored to preserve their rich history, featuring period buildings relocated from other sites to recreate the original town of Jollification, Missouri. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this destination is a beloved Missouri landmark for Ozark heritage and fall beauty.
