Classic View Of Mount Rushmore

Here's a classic photograph I captured of a timeless view of Mount Rushmore National Memorial, one of the most recognizable landmarks in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Carved high into the granite mountainside, the monumental sculpture is an inspiring sight that features the incredible craftsmanship behind this American icon. One detail I especially enjoy is being able to clearly see the eyeglasses on Theodore Roosevelt, a remarkable feature considering the immense scale of the carving.

Mount Rushmore features the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln, four presidents chosen to represent the nation's founding, growth, development, and preservation. Located near Keystone, South Dakota, the memorial continues to welcome millions of visitors each year who come to experience its historical significance, patriotic symbolism, and spectacular Black Hills scenery.

We visited in the morning in 2026, the year commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence. Arriving early allowed us to enjoy the monument before the crowds, while the morning light illuminated the granite faces and highlighted the remarkable detail that makes Mount Rushmore one of America's most treasured national memorials.
