Boston Rooftops

Boston Rooftops

Piece description from the artist

'Boston Rooftops' is part of a small series of prints created by covering a sheet of copper material (a plate) in a resin, then etching an image into the plate. Next, the image is placed in an acid bath that eats away at the etched marks. The plate is then inked and pressed onto a sheet of paper using a larger roller. In the case of 'Boston Rooftops', three plates were created to make one image. The inspiration for 'Boston Rooftops' came from a photo that the artist took while visiting an "open house" in Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood.
