Piece description from the artist
Standing just inches above the sand in Orange Beach, Alabama, I captured the rolling waves as they swept in from the Gulf of Mexico, their foamy edges stretching and dissolving across the shoreline. With a slow shutter, the motion of the water softens into a smooth, flowing blur, giving the scene a calm, almost ethereal quality and abstract look.
The simplicity of the clear blue sky allows the movement below to shine, creating a balanced and minimal coastal composition. Moments like this require quick reflexes, watching each wave closely and adjusting before the next rush of water reaches your gear. But that anticipation is part of the experience, adding a bit of excitement to an otherwise tranquil setting.
I love how this technique transforms an everyday beach scene into something more artistic, where motion becomes texture, and the ocean feels both powerful and serene at the same time.
