Piece description from the artist
In this quiet corner of the Montana plains, a weathered old house stands resiliently beneath an expansive, cloud-swept sky. I love how these places are always inviting us to pause as time moves slow. Surrounded by soft pastel evening hues, sun-bleached wood, and golden prairie grass, I wanted to capture the intimate poetry of the landscape. This piece is a celebration of savoring the beauty in the small details—from the rough grain of timber to the gentle sway of the grass—within the breathtaking, wide-open expanse of the West.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
