Biking Through China

Biking Through China

Piece description from the artist

Sanya is a resort town in southern China that I visited at the end of my internship. This is considered the Hawaii of China, and in one of the resorts I poked my nose in and discovered a wall of past Miss World winners. I enjoyed Sanya because I was one of the token Americans amongst Russians and Asians, and was presumed to be a freshly single celebrity. Probably Katie Holmes. Anyway, a group of about ten Chinese men in floral swim trunks gestured for a photo, which I relished. My only regret was turning down their offer of a cigarette after the pictures. This collage depicts the road that ran parallel to the beach.
