Piece description from the artist
This scenic view captures the front and side of the historic red and white McAllister Covered Bridge in Adams, Indiana, on a beautiful summer day with fluffy white clouds drifting overhead. Built in 1914 by Joseph A. Britton and Son, this classic Burr Arch covered bridge spans 144 feet in length, 16 feet in width, and stands 14 feet high. Crossing Little Raccoon Creek, the bridge is a celebrated piece of Indiana’s covered bridge history and was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It’s always a treat to experience these well-preserved engineering landmarks in such a picturesque setting.
