Piece description from the artist
A calm hazy morning along the riverbank creates the perfect setting to sit and welcome the sunrise over the Mississippi River from a bench in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, USA. Taken just as the sun began to break through the clouds, this peaceful scene looks toward Illinois on the opposite shore. The mighty Mississippi, North America’s second-longest river, winds approximately 2,350 miles from its source at Lake Itasca to the Gulf of Mexico, shaping ecosystems, communities, and history along its journey. A timeless moment on one of the world’s most influential waterways.
