Piece description from the artist
Rooted in a deep appreciation for the quiet simplicity and unadorned joy that blossoms bring, this piece draws from the cherished memories of wandering through my grandmother’s garden each summer. Rendered in my signature modern Scandinavian folk art style, the vibrant yellow blooms, delicate slate blue clusters, and textured coral foliage are arranged inside a patterned teal vase to evoke a timeless, grounding warmth. Through hand-drawn textures and a heritage color palette, this illustration celebrates the enduring beauty of nature and invites a sense of nostalgic comfort and grounded peace into everyday living spaces.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
