"Basking in the Sun" is a bold and colorful portrait of a bear. To suggest warm sunshine for the sky and the highlights that define the form of the bear, I used Naples yellow. I applied blues, violets, and dark reds to contrast this lovely yellow. The viewer can see much texture, adding interest and depth to this painting. Bears are one of my favorite subjects, and I love capturing the character and power of each bear I paint.
The natural world and her love for animals inspire Dara Daniel's Acrylic on canvas, mixed-media paintings. She combines bold colors and shapes and lots of textures to create fun, playful interpretations of horses and other animal spirits.
