Growing up in rural Montana, I came to love and respect the resilience of nature. This photograph honors the quiet resilience of rural Americana, capturing the weathered textures of aged barn doors that have stood the test of time. Framed by overgrown, golden prairie grasses, the rich, sun-bleached wood grains, cross-braces, and sturdy timber latch tell a visual story of history, endurance, and practical craftsmanship. By focusing on these rugged details, the piece highlights the rustic beauty found in the forgotten corners of the landscape, inviting the viewer to contemplate the passage of time and the enduring spirit of the countryside.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
