Location: Twin Falls – North Bend, WA – 2021
After living in Washington for over a year, I now see how the Pacific Northwest inspires so much rich folklore and imagery. Sometimes I feel as if in a movie or a virtual game. Every perspective seems like a work of art, especially in Autumn. On this rainy Autumn day, bright yellows, oranges, and reds from the leaves blended into the colder blue-grey and green tones – creating this fantasy-like environment. It took me a while to organize my thoughts within the chaotic beauty. So as I often do, I slowed my thoughts down and began to study more specific sections of the land. Autumn's Fable is what I finally settled on because a time long gone is what I imagined as I explored.
After securing this image, I sat there on a rock and imagined what it must have felt like to sit by this river hundreds of years ago. Today instead of out and about in nature, people look to go in and further within technology. Navigating this age of technology since the '80s, I know the benefits, but I also understand the disconnect it has created. I hope images like this will inspire more tech tide generations to explore and preserve our natural world.
