Autumn Buck
Piece description from the artist
At the edge of a grassy forest clearing, a twisted, dead oak rests upon a small hill. Erosion has stripped away the side of the small rise, yet the tree still stubbornly tries to hold the earth together with its roots. A dirt path runs alongside the old oak, and, in the golden light of a cloudy autumn afternoon, a buck has wandered by. This piece is the second in a series of three artworks featuring the deer on a path next to the tree. All three of the images involve a very strong sense of autumn with lots of yellow, orange, and red colors, that is, the golden colors of fall foliage.
