"Within the fog and throughout the surreal ash-colored landscape, a lone elderly man walks wearily away from a sea of uncertainty towards higher ground. Content within a mental sanctum of absolution, he is now ready for Rapture's thunderous arrival."
I made this moment with my camera at Ruby Beach, Washington. While battling cold winds and rain, I watched an older man walk gingerly on the shore. I was overwhelmed with thoughts and emotions about life as I made and edited this photo. Ashy Solitude is an attempt to express what I felt and saw on this colorless day.
