Piece description from the artist
This photograph captures the impressive Glen Canyon Dam in Page, Arizona, USA, where the massive concrete arch-gravity structure towers 710 feet above the Colorado River. Taken in the soft light of evening, the sun illuminates one side of the glowing orange canyon walls while the opposite side falls into deep shadow, creating a dramatic contrast. The dam forms Lake Powell, one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the United States. Viewed from the river side within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, the scene highlights a striking balance between human engineering and the rugged beauty of the American Southwest.
