Anonymous Moments 4

Piece description from the artist

I do abstract painting. When I begin to work, I approach the canvas by embracing the space I am in at the moment. I am fully aware of my presence as my hand moves across the canvas, leaving its mark. The colors I choose to unfold and the shapes that emerge often emerge from something that has entered my vision before the time of the work. For example, my painting began with the changing of the seasons, the sunlight, the reflections, the colors of nature that were scattered at that moment, the white spring leaves, the scent of the wind, and the movement of my hand. My work is an intuitive gesture of the intrinsic value of the original thing, which is revealed along with my visual experience. The ‘inspiration’ for my work is each dizzying, extraordinary, perhaps fleeting moment that I see, which stays with me, making me dream and imagine a connection with anyone and everyone I am with. Then, the moment expressed through painting allows me to go beyond the senses and experience unity with someone else. My work stems from the wonder that comes from seeing the world unfold fully in each breath.
