Piece description from the artist
Clouds are just so cool, right? Altocumulus is a type of cloud that this piece reminds me of, and once again, it's inspired by topographic or drone images looking down at the Earth through the clouds.
Jacqueline Evans uses bold colors and hand drawn shapes to illuminate another world, peeking out behind a veil of textures.
Using oil and cold wax as an anchor to her work, she begins with graphite, then defines. The viewer will note hints of her mark making intermingled in the works enhanced by the transparency of her pallet.
