Piece description from the artist
The old coal-fired, steam engine is a favorite among both locals and tourists. A group in traditional clothing waits to board, lending a glimpse back in time to when this old locomotive was new.
Brett grew up in the Pacific Northwest and spent his free time hiking, back-packing and caving during time off from his job as an electrical engineer.
This gave him an opportunity to explore and experience the undeveloped beauty of the wilderness, both above and under the ground.
Brett carried a small point and shoot camera in his pack to capture the raw beauty of the areas he visited and shared those images with others. He sharing sharing images that helped others appreciate the natural world and feel a sense of awe.
Beauty comes in many forms, from the lush, glacier-carved valleys of the Pacific Northwest, to the scrub-thorn ruggedness of the Southwest. Each has its unique character and attraction.
