Sunset Moon over Gates Pass

Piece description from the artist

The peak above Gates Pass is a great place to watch the sunset. Once a year, the full moon appears to be centered above the valley, which is painted in the red light of the sunset.
The long exposure reveals the color range of the image, as well as captures the motion of the car lights moving on the road.
The purple hills behind the city lights set off the northeast boundary of Tucson.

About Brett Cook

Tucson, AZ

Brett grew up in the Pacific Northwest and spent his free time hiking, back-packing and caving during time off from his job as an electrical engineer.
This gave him an opportunity to explore and experience the undeveloped beauty of the wilderness, both above and under the ground.
Brett carried a small point and shoot camera in his pack to capture the raw beauty of the areas he visited and shared those images with others. He sharing sharing images that helped others appreciate the natural world and feel a sense of awe.
Beauty comes in many forms, from the lush, glacier-carved valleys of the Pacific Northwest, to the scrub-thorn ruggedness of the Southwest. Each has its unique character and attraction.
