Piece description from the artist
After the Divide – Light II explores the relationship between sculptural structure and light. Interlocking circular forms appear in soft ivory tones, creating a balanced composition that feels both architectural and organic. Gentle shifts in light reveal subtle texture and curvature, allowing the photograph to move between abstraction and dimensional form.
The restrained palette and smooth geometry bring clarity and calm to a space. This work functions well in contemporary interiors where neutral tones and minimal forms support a quiet visual focal point. Its balanced structure complements residential, hospitality, and workplace environments.
Ava Bock is an abstract artist working across sculpture, drawing, and material-based wall works. Her practice centers on modular systems, restrained compositions, and the physical qualities of materials, resulting in work that balances structure with visual calm. She earned a BFA in Sculpture from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, with additional training in photography and visual design. Ava’s work often incorporates sustainable materials, including bio-resins and recycled substrates, reflecting a long-term commitment to environmentally conscious making. Influenced by the Light and Space movement and the principles of perceptual experience, her work is designed to quietly interact with architecture rather than dominate it. Through repetition, rhythm, and subtle variation, her pieces support spaces intended for focus, pause, and reflection. Ava lives and works in Oregon.
