A minimalist profile study capturing a Hermann's tortoise in active mid-stride against a weathered, neutral plaster wall. High clarity brings out the geometric dark-and-yellow patterns of its domed carapace, scaled limbs, and extended neck. The stark, clean horizontal division of the concrete backdrop creates a quiet, balanced study in form, pace, and texture.
From the smallest details of macro to the vast panorama of a landscape, with a quick stop off at many subjects in between, Rick's passion for detail and capturing the moment has inspired him to shoot many different genres. He enjoys traveling to different parts of the world and will take his camera, even on work trips. More recently, he has been practicing creating artistic renditions of his photograph.
