Raised amidst the rolling hills and oak trees in the beautiful wine country of Northern California, Timothy Teruo Watters (TTW) has been painting with oil for over 25 years. Although he took a few art classes while in college at the University of California Santa Barbara and received some guidance from his grandfather, artist Teruo Iyama, TTW is largely self-taught. He has exhibited his work in art shows and galleries from Santa Rosa, CA to Kona, HI, to the canyons of St. George, Utah. For as long as he can remember, he has been oil painting or creating some form of art; it is as much a part of his life as breathing. He believes that painting is soothing for the soul and hopes that his work has a positive impact for viewers.
With a style reminiscent of stained glass, TTW's artwork jumps from the canvas with its bold lines and emphatic color. In recent years, TTW has also moved into the whimsical area of watercolors, where his signature interplay of lines and colors takes on a softer approach.
