About Mina Lawton

Enfield, NH

Mina Lawton started her creative career as a dancer, choreographer, and director in New York City. She trained at Central School of Ballet in London and at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s School. She performed in both stage and film productions including an original production of Othello with Alaska Dance Theatre, in the original cast of Nutcracker Rouge with Company XIV, as as well performed works by many choreographers including Sonya Tayeh of SYTYCD, Pedro Ruiz, jr, and Abe Abraham among others.

As a teaching artist she taught at Skidmore College and Dartmouth College. She has redirected her creativity toward visual arts in the past few years, utilizing knowledge and aesthetic accrued through her dance career and from over a decade of modeling for artists, schools, and competitions in New York City and New England including at The Art Students League of New York, Grand Central Atelier (previously Grand Central Academy of Art), and smaller classical studios. She now lives in New Hampshire where nature inspires her daily and a slower pace allows a thoughtful and deliberate exploration of technique and expression.

She is very appreciative to be selected to be a TurningArtist and looks forward to having her work available to a new and broader audience.
