Gonca Chelsea

Gonca Chelsea’s work encompasses human emotion, feeling and intention articulated by color, dimension and balance. Each piece is a journey of the soul where color is the guide and destination. Gonca chooses to work in a fluid manner, and is guided by instinct and intuitive aesthetics. The work is mainly acrylic paint on canvas, with ink, spray paint, gesso and other mediums. Born in NYC to Turkish immigrants, Gonca has been influenced by the rich and intense motifs and colors of the Ottoman Empire, while also finding inspiration in abstract expressionist painters in the West.
