About the Artist
The absurdity of the world has always been fascinating to Gail. All these unconscious conclusions, standards and boundaries that have constantly been set by society – yet also driven by nothingness; has led her to wanting to show the 'leaks' of the world through her work. By showing through her slightly wild imagination through camera lens and with the assistance of post-production to complete her story-telling.
Colors play a main role in most of her work, yet ironically she used to dislike colorful things while she was at a rather complicated stage of her life. She then started to experiment and add colors into her work. She inevitably fell for it and it has influenced her creative path. She believes how people feel affects how they perceive color, and colors of surroundings affects people emotionally, too. Her works allow her to constantly discover the identities of each color, and used with the dreamy, melancholic aesthetic of hers.
After Gail finished her studies abroad in the UK, she has then decided to come back to Hong Kong, and also to pursue her B.F.A photography degree in Savannah College of Art and Design, Hong Kong. She was lucky enough to also have the chance to work with local studios and art centers, and had her work featured in magazines and online platforms. She is hoping to not just continue to sprinkle the world with creativity, but also to hopefully heal people through art , and getting inspired by more people.
