Armenian American artist Gabriel Boyajian’s abstract works can best be described as “drawings as space”. Stemming from his architectural education, form and composition are investigated through iterative computer aided design, best described as “techspressionism” a term coined by Patrick Lichty. Gabriel’s work captures the same ethos and legacy of abstract expressionism where emotion is at the forefront of the art mixed with the new creative possibilities that technology provides. The layered end products are colorful and textural transformations towing the line between the digital and natural sublime.
