About Amanda Hill

Malden, MA

Amanda Hill is a multi-media artist whose work ranges from 2D paintings and murals to 3D public installation art. The paintings she creates are rooted in the deep exploration of objects—some of her subjects include car parts, animals, and figures. Hill often simplifies the background of her work in order to elevate the status of her subject matter, heightening what many considered to be commonplace. Her paintings specifically demonstrate an interest in color theory, color relationships, and structure.

Through her work, Amanda focuses on increasing the awareness and the accessibility of the arts. She advocates for the support of creative expression at large and takes a special interest in a community’s ability to make and experience art. Some of her accomplishments include painting murals in Philadelphia and Massachusetts, designing and building a 300 square-foot performance art space, and developing and producing various festivals including an annual Mural Festival in Lynn, MA.

Amanda received a BA from Smith College (Northampton, MA), and an MS in Nonprofit Management from The New School, Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy (New York, NY). Amanda currently works and lives in the Greater Boston area.
