Piece description from the artist
The idea for this painting comes from my interest in objects blocking our view of my main subject (the house). I thought that a lawn flamingo was the ideal object for this and this is one painting in a series that I'm doing with flamingos.
Born in the former Yugoslavia, Diane Pribojan has lived most of her life in Cleveland, OH. She finds inspiration in rural architecture and landscapes. Her paintings are idealized and simplified images with exaggerated color and space; she uses this style to express a specific mood or time.
Diane has had an interest in art ever since she was a small child. She began her studies at the Cleveland Institute of Art and went on to earn her MFA at Kent State University.
