Winter Sliding Hill

Winter Sliding Hill

Piece description from the artist

This well-known winter sliding hill at Staring Lake in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, was, in its day, teeming with hundreds of youngsters and their saucers whizzing down at breakneck speed. Now, it looks much like this: almost abandoned. Why? I’m not entirely sure, but my guess would be video games. I was raised in Duluth, Minnesota where snow was invented. We didn’t have video games. We didn’t even have a television! But I was really good at sliding.
