I captured this peaceful winter morning scene along a quiet country road in Ozark, Missouri, just after a fresh snowfall early in the morning before sunrise. A large oak tree, positioned slightly to the right within the frame, stands alone in the middle of a snow-covered farm, its branches heavy with fluffy white snow. The street is framed to the left. Taken at dawn, the overcast sky held a soft hint of pink that gently reflected onto the ground, adding a subtle warmth to the otherwise cool winter tones. We hadn’t seen snowfall like this in years, measuring 6.25 inches at my home in January 2023, so I made sure to get out early, before the wind could strip the snow from the trees, to capture this rare and quiet moment in the Ozarks.
