Winter Mountain Sunrise

Piece description from the artist

What a calm and serene image! But it was bitterly cold at this moment, nearly standing atop the Continental Divide in the Colorado Rocky Mountains above Denver. I have had many a cold missions to chase photographic images, yet this one is memorable for the intensity of the freezing wind during the predawn hike to my position. My fingers were becoming useless implements as the wind bit at my fragile form. It was invigorating, with a sense of humility to be within this land photographing such and intense sunrise. These are the moments that motivate and also provide perspective.
