Piece description from the artist
This painting was inspired by a photo taken on Wildwood Trail, a Portland, Oregon hiking spot. This “wild wood” is full of movement, the details of many weaving twigs and branches, light and color. Crimson and gold leaves hang in the foreground, illuminated by the bright sunlight, signifying the beginning of fall. Some of the branches are draped with sun-lit moss. The sun, low in the sky, bursts around the edge of the large tree trunk in the foreground. The beautiful trees fill the whole painting with life.
