“Where the Wind Paused” captures a quiet moment of stillness in the middle of movement — like the air holding its breath. The painting moves between bright flashes of color and soft, hazy transitions, creating a gentle, drifting rhythm. Loose strokes of violet, blue, and coral swirl and fade. Fine pencil lines move across the surface like quick thoughts, adding a personal and spontaneous touch to the flow of the piece.
Evgenia Makarova was born in 1984 and began her artistic journey after completing a degree in Graphic Design in 2008. She transitioned to a full-time artist in 2020 and currently lives and creates her art in Aylesbury, United Kingdom.
Evgenia's primary artistic emphasis lies in abstraction. Her creative method is profoundly grounded in spontaneity, intuition, and improvisation. She strives to seize emotions in the instant of artistic inception, articulating them through color, form, and texture on the canvas. In her works, the creative process assumes a central role as she engages in experimentation with a diverse range of materials and tools.
