Where are we going

Where Are We Going

Piece description from the artist

This is part of a series I created appropriating Paul Gauguin's name for his final painting, Where Do We Come From, What Are We, Where Are We Going. The concept applied to the title is an observation and reflection on human society in a contemporary environment through the lens of mimetics and human evolutionary science. I chose to break each of the questions into separate prints that have a cohesive voice.

This is a TurningArt exclusive limited edition print available in editions of 100.

About Justin Oon

Briarwood, NY

Born and raised in New York, I am a Pratt Institute graduate with a degree in Communications Design, with a focus on Illustration.

Much of my personal work is often inspired by and reflective of the society we live in today, with relevance to the modern culture that I've personally experienced. For me, this subject is often symbolized through the vast roads of America.

Recently, I've been selected to participate in the 2011 Pratt Show Exhibition as well as the Society of Illustrators Student Annual Competition.
