Wet lily

Wet Lily

Piece description from the artist

I just got back from an amazing trip to Maui. On the Road to Hana, there's a great place called the Garden of Eden that showcases all of the indigenous plant and wildlife from the Hawaiian Islands. This beautiful little water lily caught my eye, laid on a bed of lily pads. It was raining heavily at the time, and I had to have the shot especially with all those water beads, so my towel and I ran out to this little beauty and got up close on its exquisite details. I think it was worth it, I absolutely love this shot!

About Danny Anderson

Brentwood, CA

Danny Anderson has no formal training in photography, but he makes up for what he lacks in training with a unique perception of the world around him.

From the beginning, Danny's approach was simple; when he photographs a location, Danny attempts to capture not just what it looks like, but what it feels like to be there. In doing so, contrasts, composition, dynamics and drama have become an integral part of his process and consideration while making artwork. Danny is always searching for everyday beauty so he can allow the day-to-day imagery to distract and inspire him. Danny refers to this process as "natural distraction."

Danny currently lives and works in Brentwood, California.
