Piece description from the artist
Way Too Early
Acrylic/mixed media on paper
Elizabeth Chapman is a modern expressionistic abstract artist. Her birthplace of Caracas, Venezuela has naturally influenced her work by adding an element of intensity to it. Elizabeth graduated from Missouri State University with a BS in Art Education. Elizabeth has been an art educator for almost two decades, but her focus over the last few years has shifted to the creation of her own artwork.
Elizabeth is a versatile artist; she started her practice with realistic floral watercolors, but eventually forayed into the realm of abstract expressionism. There is a strong sense of design and composition in her work, each of which are important elements when creating abstract art. Elizabeth’s paintings have been described as vivid, lively and bold with a complexity of layers. Elizabeth’s paintings are revelations of her innermost thoughts and feelings, often deeply inspired by music.
Elizabeth’s modern abstracts have been sold locally, nationwide and internationally and can be found in both corporate settings as well as private collections. Elizabeth is also available for commissioned artwork.
